California state officials announced funding cuts for schools for the 2009-10 school year because of the $24 billion budget shortfall. The schools are getting hit hard every year with cuts which lead to more classroom crowding, less teachers and less enrichment programs. But the administrators continue to collect their hefty salaries. Students are getting less help in the classroom due to the ratio of teacher per student, therefore their learning is being impeded. So my question to the administrators is, Why don't you take a pay cut and help save one-two teachers' jobs per school? In 2002-03 the minimum salary for a high school principal was about $98,000.
